Description
The G265-8 antibody reacts with both the 72 and 77 amino acid forms of human interleukin-8 (IL-8). The immunogen used to produce the G265-8 hybridoma was recombinant human IL-8.

Product Notices
- Since applications vary, each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results.
- Caution: Sodium azide yields highly toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in plumbing.
- Please refer to www.bdbiosciences.com/us/s/resources for technical protocols.
ELISA Capture: For a sandwich ELISA to measure human IL-8 protein levels, the Purified Mouse Anti-Human IL-8 (Cat. No. 554716) can be paired with the Biotin Mouse Anti-Human IL-8 (Cat. No. 554718), with Recombinant Human IL-8 (Cat. No. 554609) as the standard. Purified Mouse Anti-Human IL-8should be titrated from 1 - 4 µg/ml to determine the optimal concentration for ELISA capture. To obtain standard curves, doubling dilutions of human IL-8 protein ranging from ~1,000 to 1 pg/ml are recommended for inclusion in each ELISA plate. It is recommended that the investigator should prepare dilutions of the sample to ensure that the level of IL-8 falls within this range. For specific methodology, please visit the protocols under "ELISA and ELISPOT" at our website, http://www.bdbiosciences.com/us/s/resources.
This ELISA pair is recommended primarily for measuring cytokine from experimental cell culture systems. These ELISA reagents are not recommended for assaying serum or plasma samples. For measuring mouse IL-8 in serum or plasma our mouse IL-8 BD OptEIA™ Set (Cat. No. 555244) or BD OptEIA Kit (Cat. No. 550999) are specially formulated and recommended.
This ELISA pair shows no cross-reactivity with any other cytokines (e.g., human IL-1α, IL-1ß, IL-2, IL-3, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-7, IL-9, IL-10, IL-11, IL-12, IL-13, IL-15, GM-CSF, IFN-γ, TNF, LT-α, MCP-1, MCP-2, MIP-1α, MIP-1ß, SCF, lymphotactin, VEGF, G-CSF, NT-3, PDGF, CD23, IP-10, GRO, NAP-2, PF4).
Western Blot: The clone G265-5 has been reported to be useful for Western Blotting. Please note that this application is not routinely tested at BD Biosciences.
